XS1100 / XS850 / XS750 Engine and Clutch Parts

One stumbling block many mechanics run into when restoring a vintage Yamaha is the valve train. An XS750 valve adjustment is necessary, but it requires skilled hands and the correct shims. However, you cannot know which shims your XS750 will need for a proper valve adjustment until you remove the valve cover and measure the lash. Cross your t’s and dot your i’s with an XS750 valve shim kit. It has all the shim sizes you could possible need to quiet the clatter and restore that characteristically smooth Yamaha triple howl.

Once you have your XS750 on the road, be wary of clutch issues. When vintage motorcycles sit up, clutch operation can be the first thing to go. Don’t wait for bigger problems to surface. Mikes XS has new XS750, XS850 and XS1100 friction plates and high-performance clutch springs to get your vintage Yamaha restoration shifting smoothly. We also stock hard-to-find XS750 oil sightglasses, kick-start levers, carbon starter motor brushes and more.
