Yamaha XS650 Suspension
One of the first things to go when a vintage Yamaha is left to the elements is the fork tubes. Moisture quickly becomes rust blisters on the surface of these delicate but critical XS650 suspension components. If you catch it early, you may be able to buff off the rust with extra-fine steel wool. If not, the rust will cut the fork seals and oil will leak all over the front brake — and worse. If you found your vintage XS650 restoration in this condition, consider new fork tubes. Mikes XS has 1975-76 and 1977-84 XS650 fork tubes that are direct matches for the stock XS650. We can also help you with your XS650 chopper project with 2-inch and 4-inch XS650 extended fork tubes.
Are you starting to feel like you’re riding an XS650 hardtail? Mikes XS has everything you need to replace or rebuild your XS650 shock absorbers. Building a vintage XS650 café racer? Gas shocks, front fork damper valves and fork gaiters give the look, with the performance to match. Replace those rusty old XS650 fork tube caps with our brand new chromed steel or stock aluminum fork tube caps and get the shine back in your cockpit, and an XS650 steering damper will keep the front end stable when the scenery starts flying by. Whether it’s XS650 fork seals, a fork oil level gauge, blind bearing and bushing removal set or a shock wrench, Mikes XS has the parts and tools you need for your vintage XS650 restoration.
