Mikuni 159 R-0 Needle Jet Mikuni VM
159 R-0 Needle Jet Mikuni VM series carburetors (VM34). The R-0 jet is a richer running jet. On the Mikuni lean to rich chart there are 26 Needle Jets in the 159 series, R-0 is the sixth jet from the richest. The 159 series jets fit VM30-VM36 spigot type carbs.
Mikuni Pocket Tuner
Mikuni Pocket Tuner. A handy pocket-size calculator which can be used to determine required jetting changes in Mikuni carburetors due to climate and temperature changes. The Pocket Tuner is applicable to both single and multi-carb applications on two-stroke and four-stroke engines. It also has a guide for determining rich or lean carburetor conditions.

Mikuni 159 O-4 Needle Jet Mikuni VM carburetors
159 O-4 Needle Jet Mikuni VM series carburetors (VM34). The O-4 Jet is towards the leaner end of the scale. Between lean and rich it is about 1/3 of the way down from the leanest. The 159 series jets fit VM30-VM36 spigot type carbs. Sold each.

BS38 CV Carbs. If this O-ring is dried out, shrunk or damaged, fuel can pass
around the outside of the Needle jet instead of just thru the jets center causing a
richer carb fuel mixture. Note: O-Ring appears too small but it is correct, install
by carefully stretching with pointy needle nose pliers until it just fits over the jet.

Mikuni/Yamaha varies in fit and size and we have found it impossible to match
or guarantee a proper fit. No alternatives can or will be supplied. The mixture
screw and matching O-ring was never sold or supplied by Yamaha or Mikuni.

XS650G/H/SH/SJ/SK/SL Stock Mikuni BS34 CV Carbs. Plug covers vertical re-
cessed idle mixture screw & keeps out contaminants. O-Ring fits under metal
Washer at bottom of mixture screw hole and the engine will not idle properly if it
is not present - (O-ring is often disintegrated). These parts are not shown in
service & parts listings as Yamaha did not want "emissions" related parts
accessed, however adjustments were often necessary to get New bikes to run
properly. Suggested setting position of the normally hidden mixture screw is
2 1/2 to 3 turns out from bottom.
