Robin emailed us and said he is curious as to if the rectifier is bad or bad wiring. He said he has new wiring and harness coming, but with the battery plugged in and everything off, the rectifier was still warming up and pulling off the batteries. Robin said he knows they run on diodes, so he was wondering if because of plugging it in the wrong plug it might have blown those and now it’s just pulling juice. Or he wanted to know if there is a short somewhere.
Our response was that this is a very good possibility. With the diodes shot it is just drawing power. So the rectifier will need to be replaced for sure. We don’t offer the rectifier for the SR500. But the OEM number for the SR500 rectifier is 2J2-81960-A0-00.
