Out of all the classic bikes from the “golden age” of Japanese motorcycles, the Yamaha XS650 may be the most recognizable of them all. It is hard to mistake an XS2 for any other machine that the “Big Four” released in the 70s. The 653cc vertical twin engine matched by the perfect amount of chrome and the unforgettable ‘Brilliant Red’ color scheme is why this staple in Yamaha motorcycling history remains as cool as ever today.

Mikes XS customer Gregory Goss from California is no stranger to these Japanese gems. This build, in particular, was for a client of his in Pennslyvania and Goss was kind enough to send some photos our way before this beautiful XS2 makes the trek across the country to its new home.

“I just completed a restoration of a 1972 XS650-2 for a client in PA”, says Greg. “I was able to acquire a number of needed items from Mike’s XS. Thank you for the prompt service that you provided.”

Incredible restoration, Greg and thank you for choosing Mikes XS to help bring this classic XS2 back to life!
